Sally the Sourdough is the heart of Little Home Creations—our living starter, lovingly nurtured and fed daily to create naturally leavened bread the way it was meant to be made.
What we sell is simple, honest bread. No shortcuts. No preservatives.
Just time, care, and a few wholesome ingredients.
Not All Sourdough Is the Same
While many store-bought “sourdough” breads are labeled as such, they often rely on commercial yeast, vinegar, preservatives, and flavor enhancers to mimic sourdough taste and speed up production. These add-ins help bread rise faster and last longer on shelves—but they aren’t true sourdough.
Our sourdough is different.
Sally was cultivated from only flour and water, nothing else. She is naturally leavened, alive, and active—just as sourdough has been made for generations.
Slow Fermented, Naturally Better
Each loaf is slow fermented over many hours (and often days), allowing Sally to naturally break down the dough. This process develops deep flavor, improves texture, and supports digestion.
Through many experiments and careful development, we tested fermentation times, hydration levels, and baking methods to create bread that is not only delicious, but consistently nourishing and satisfying.
Why Choose True Sourdough?
Slow fermentation helps:
Break down gluten and phytic acid
Improve mineral absorption
Create a lower glycemic response
Make bread easier to digest for many people
The result is bread that feels good to eat and keeps you fuller longer.
